November 4, 2007 (Day 71)
Last night when Rand got home, we worked on my Web Name and Logo. We went through a variety of names and ideas and finally found one that fit like a glove. ENLIGHTENED by CANCER. Perfect, as it is a true statement of what my walk with cancer is doing for me. I can't say that I'm embracing it, but I am accepting it as my path. I want to grasp every lesson, not miss a thing. Make this a journey of enlightment as it has already begun to be. In the end, I'll be better for it. I know that, as I can already feel the positive inward change in me.

Let me encourage you. If you, or a loved one, are suffering from Cancer don't look it as the end, but as a new beginning for you to explore. Be alive, love, speak your heart, awaken and do things you have wanted to do, but haven't because your schedule didn't allow because it felt uncomfortable or wasn't practical. Big things, like travel, if you can or little things like going out to eat Sunday breakfast with someone you love. Take a drive to look at the fall leaves. Walk barefoot in a mountain stream. Buy a gold fish (good Feng Shui). Explore new literature. Join an e-card service and send e-cards galore. Take a yoga class or self teach. Volunteer at your local American Cancer Society. Take a dog to the park. Start a new hobby like geocaching. Write poetry or a book. Keep a journal (you won't believe how this will help you in your journey). In fact, it was my journal that started the idea of this website.Explore alternative treatments.Start making a effort to connect with people around you even if they're strangers. Look people in the eye. The idea's are endless. As my husband often says, “Wake up and smell the coffee of life.”
My point is...be ALIVE, AWAKE, AWARE! Don't let potential death zap the life out of you. Fight it and LIVE! It's all about attitude. Yes, we have to go through the initial shock, denial, despair, pain, anger and heartbreak of our diagnosis, but then things begin to come into perspective, we can step beyond and embrace the positive things in our lives.
GO FORTH AND CONQOUR and BE WELL IN THE WORLD!
My daughter Lyndsay had me over for dinner and my son Corey and grandchildren came too. It was nice spending time with the kids. Corey and Matt were able to spend a little time together and talk about climbing (Matt and Tanner rock climb). Corey has an interest and I'm encouraging him to get involved. He spends all of his time working and taking care of the kids (he's a single parent).
Deanna looked at my unpublished website and read every word. I was touched and amazed that it kept her attention. When it was time to go Dylan whispered to Daddy. "I want to spend the night with Grandmommie", so I took the opportunity to spend some time with my grandson. Deanna chose to go back to her house. She's pre-teen, so I kinda know where she's coming from. Dylan had a good time. Kahuna (AKA grandpa) took him to McDonalds for a "big boy" breakfast, while grandmommie went to her class. He loves the dogs, spider man and acting goofy with Kahuna.
